🎉 we are so honored to get to work with the @cl

🎉 we are so honored to get to work with the @clevelandpubliclibrary on the AsiaTown ArtBox, which is a mini library with bookshelves and art gallery and gets to hang out all summer at the Square Dancing Park at E. 33rd and Payne! We celebrated with a ribbon cutting last Saturday to welcome the ArtBox to the neighborhood with a boba bar from @dagucle, beats by @nottherealcdv, screenprinting with @zygotepress, lots of dancing, and hands on painting to contribute to @luckie_chi’s mural! Huge thank you to @_ngoctnguyen who has stewarded this project and brought it to life!

The ArtBox will be open on Fridays 2-6pm and Saturdays 10am-6pm through October. Come to check out books or just sit and read.

Join this week for a family day and dinosaurs, next week for artist talk with @aawfulaaron (whose studio is right here in the neighborhood!) and more fun at the park all summer long.

For this second annual Children’s Day celebratio

For this second annual Children’s Day celebration, we welcomed the Lingyun Rising Star and Stellar Acrobatic Dancers. We tested the @clevelandpubliclibrary Artbox, and got free books from the @kidsbookbank. We learned about health and wellness from @asiaohio. And we played! We raced, played tug of war, made bubble kingdoms, and met baby dinosaurs from @imaginos_productions.

💫 This pop-up park at the Square Dancing Park will be out all summer for folks to enjoy. Bring takeout or bubble tea and sit at a bench. Join our jiejie for square dancing on Saturday and Sunday mornings. Practice tai chi or yoga, or just gather with neighbors in the space. Thank you to @georgegundfoundation for the support to have this lovely mini park space!

📚 the @clevelandpubliclibrary Artbox will also be part of the neighborhood all summer, until October! The Artbox will be stocked with books in various languages, and you can register for a library card or check out books right from the space. It will also include a rotating art gallery throughout the summer, AND will be wrapped in artwork by @luckie_chi.

🎉 JOIN US for a ribbon cutting, and help paint the Artbox! *Rescheduled to Saturday, June 18 (this Saturday)! at 11am, due to the forecast of thunderstorms.*
The Artbox will be OPEN Fridays 2-6pm and Saturdays 10am-6pm starting Saturday. Look out for programs on Saturdays throughout the summer!

We have another mural coming your way, and the opportunity for you to be in it! Thanks to People’s Streets, @ridespin, and the Jack, Joseph, and Morton Mandel Foundation, @ktmarcotte will be painting a mural on the bridge that crosses I-90 on Payne Avenue. Do you live, work, or go to school along Payne Avenue in AsiaTown or Campus District? Send us your photo to be included in Kathleen’s signature style!
